Code of Conduct - Coaches

Gymnastics and Trampoline coaches must at all times adhere to standards of personal behaviour which reflect credit on British Gymnastics and the code of coaching. The coach must abide by the principles embodied in the Code of Ethics and the following indicates the type of incident which may be considered breaches of the Codes of Ethics and Conduct.
a) Misrepresentation
A coach must not misrepresent their qualifications, affiliations, or professional competency in anyway.
b) Commitment
Coaches should adhere to any commitment or agreement entered into with an employer, team or individual.
c) Confidentiality
Confidential information must not be divulged unless the express approval of the individual is obtained.
d) Criminal Conviction
Any conviction of a coach by a court of law or a caution issued by the police must be declared to the employer and to British Gymnastics. Any member of the Association (BG) must report any alleged criminal offence to British Gymnastics.
e) Disciplinary Procedures by an Employer
A coach must report to British Gymnastics any formal disciplinary action taken against them by an employer in connection with their work as a coach.
f) Personal Misconduct
British Gymnastics may take disciplinary action against a coach if such conduct is deemed to be “Misconduct” or “Gross Misconduct” even if such misconduct does not give rise to disciplinary action by the employer or lead to conviction in a court of law.
